Stopped off here for dinner on a long drive. The Google reviews and the posted pictures made it seem like a ”can’t miss“ opportunity. We wanted a restaurant that served healthy, delicious plates with an array of choices. We found that and more! The food was amazing. For starters, we had the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Chicken Bites. Highly recommend! The dressing was so good. I had the Cilantro Lime Shrimp salad. I was hoping for a sweeter tasting salad, but it was good in its own right. The shrimp was yummy. My husband and son both got the Deep Fried Ribeye Steak. I had a bite and it was the best one I’ve ever tried. I mean, no place else deep fries a ribeye, right? Of course, it was delicious! Then ,to top it off, we shared a huge piece of cheesecake. It was light and fluffy and so good. They’re best known for their Pecan Bread Pudding but I just couldn’t do it since I don’t like bread pudding in general lol! The wait staff was friendly and enjoyable. I could tell they like their job. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

The Garden Co. Cafe 217 Kessler Ave, Schulenburg, TX 78956 Traveling from Houston to San Antonio by car? This is the perfect spot to take a break, stretch your legs and enjoy a delightful fresh salad. The menu offers burgers, po-boys and an array of salads. We chose the Hanger Steak Salad. Romaine lettuc, mixed greens topped with a fig induced vinegarette dressing. Smoked bacon, avocado and Colby Jack cheese are mixed in. The steak is cooked & seasoned to perfection. This salad was enough for my wife & I to share. This accompanied with a sweet tea was just what we needed to recharge our batteries. The restaurant has a nursery and gift shop that carry an assortment of unique items for the home & garden. Final Thoughts - Blending rustic charm with modern flavors, the café offers a welcoming atmosphere where guests can savor thoughtfully crafted dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

This restaurant is a great spot to bring your date on! My wife and I stopped on our way to our retreat. Definitely recommended the portobello mushroom starter, the baja fish tacos, and can't miss the bread pudding!

We decided to do a pilgrimage to see the painted churches in the area. Lunch stop was here and such a nice gem. The staff was accommodating since we had a fairly large group (15). Various orders off the menu. I can comment on ours and while when we first thought this would be very posh, we quickly found out that this was delightful. We ordered the Brussels sprouts that was a meal in itself. I ordered the fried chicken salad and it surprised me and what a great salad I had. Other items were the blackberry salad, and chicken salad sandwich. All so good. Well we polished this off with no room for dessert. Next time, dessert! Good food value. Will be back. Regarding service, seeing reviews offering different views i could see the possibility but we had great service.

Stylish cafe and garden store. I enjoyed their chicken salad sandwich and brussel sprouts. They have several dining rooms and a nice patio. They are located conveniently across from the bakery. They have their own large parking lot.
